This is achieved using the micro FUE method. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and generally lasts several hours.

With just one session, most patients achieve highly successful results, although in rare cases, a second operation may be required. Unlike temporary cosmetic solutions, beard transplantation offers a permanent and natural solution to sparse or patchy beards.

Donor Area in Beard Transplantation

The donor hair is usually extracted from the back of the scalp, neck, or jawline, depending on the patient’s condition and the density required. The extracted grafts are then carefully placed in the beard area, following the natural growth angle.

Healing Process After Beard Transplantation

Following the operation, patients may experience temporary redness, swelling, or mild dryness. These symptoms usually disappear within a few days. Since the transplanted area is on the face, some swelling may be visible during the first few days, but with proper care and medication, these effects are minimized.

Most patients can return to work within a week, although light activities are possible after just a few days. During recovery, transplanted hairs may shed within the first few weeks, a completely normal process known as shock loss. By the 3rd or 4th month, new beard growth begins, and final results are typically visible within 8–12 months.

Do Transplanted Beards Fall Out?

Under normal conditions, transplanted beards do not fall out, as the grafts are taken from the safe donor area resistant to hair loss. However, when performed by inexperienced hands or when grafts are taken from outside the safe zone, hair loss risks may increase. For this reason, it is crucial to have the procedure done in a specialized and professional clinic.

How Many Grafts Are Needed for a Beard Transplant?

The number of grafts required depends on:

• The size of the beard area to be covered

• The density desired by the patient

• The thickness of the donor hair

On average, a full beard transplant requires several thousand grafts, while smaller corrections (such as filling patches or scars) require fewer. The exact number is determined after a detailed consultation and facial assessment.
